The Boring Company outlined the full scope of construction underway for the Vegas Loop, revealing that the project extends far beyond the 14 tunnels currently built. The company is constructing 14 stations with plans to reach 28 by year's end, alongside 12 emergency egress shafts, 6 cross-passages, and 9 knockout shafts.

"Vegas Loop isn't just tunnels. It is also stations, merge/exit ramps, cross-passages, ventilation chambers, and emergency egress shafts," the company wrote on X. The Boring Company detailed the construction process for a cross-passage connecting two tunnels beneath Paradise Road, a roughly 10-day operation involving ground treatment, wall bracing, controlled excavation at 10 feet per day, waterproofing, steel reinforcement, and concrete pouring before final connections are made.

Emergency egress shafts, which take approximately 8 days to construct, involve excavating to the tunnel, installing waterproofing and reinforced concrete structures, and adding stairs, ventilation, safety equipment, and monitoring systems. The final surface footprint of each shaft is roughly 120 square feet. Cross-passages are outfitted with walking surfaces, fire suppression systems, safety sensors, lighting, and cameras to ensure passenger safety and accessibility throughout the tunnel network.

"Vegas Loop isn’t just tunnels! In Vegas, besides 14 tunnels, TBC has built 14 stations (28 by end of year), 12 emergency egresses, 6 cross-passages, and 9 "knockout shafts". See below for the construction of a cross-passage connecting "Tunnel-1" and "Tunnel-2" (beneath Paradise Road) to provide access and egress; construction time is ~10 days. Steps: 1. If necessary, treat the ground (typically"— X · @boringcompany
