Starshield satellites to offer up to 10Tb connectivity per unit
Elon Musk outlines bandwidth targets and power specs for SpaceX's next-generation military satellite constellation.

Elon Musk has outlined performance targets for SpaceX's Starshield satellite constellation, stating that "connectivity per sat will be more like 10Tb in both directions and there is a path to 100+Tb," according to a post on X.
Each satellite will draw 250kW of power and house a SpaceX-designed Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 computer, according to Musk's description. The specifications suggest a significant leap in onboard processing and data throughput capacity compared to current generations.
Starshield is SpaceX's military variant of its Starlink satellite network, developed for U.S. government and allied defense applications. Musk's comments indicate the company is pursuing substantial increases in per-satellite bandwidth, with a longer-term vision of exceeding 100Tb in both directions.
