xAI's Grok 4.7 is now being deployed for real engineering work at Tesla, according to a post from Yunta Tsai, who leads Grok Build teams. Over recent weeks, the model has been optimized for production use, with improvements spanning presentation quality, self-validation capabilities, thinking efficiency, and long-horizon monitoring tasks.

"Many FSD and Cybercab features I personally shipped were done with my overnight agents," Tsai wrote on X, highlighting that the model is contributing to features shipped in Full Self-Driving and the Cybercab robotaxi platform. The Grok Build team also noted improved performance on vision language model and multimodal tasks, areas critical for autonomous vehicle systems that must process camera feeds and sensor data.

The update signals that xAI's reasoning model has moved beyond testing into active use on Tesla's core autonomous driving and robotaxi projects. While details on the scope of Grok 4.7's role remain limited, its application to features already in production or deployment represents a notable milestone for the AI model.
