Construction at Tesla's Giga Texas Optimus Factory is moving at a notable pace, with steel assembly now only about five column grids from the north perimeter beam, according to recent site observations. Concrete is being poured on the three upper floors while rebar continues to be laid for additional pours, and footing and grade-beam work progresses on the south end.

The facility is Tesla's dedicated high-volume manufacturing plant for Optimus humanoid robots, planned as approximately 7 million square feet to support a target production rate of 10 million units annually. The east side of the structure remains more open with long roof trusses likely spanning roughly three grids, suggesting possible atrium or taller bay sections. Stairwell access with roof connectivity is visible on the west side.

Meanwhile, the Fremont Optimus pilot production line in California is nearing the start of production with an expected run rate around 1 million units per year, potentially beginning initial production in the fourth quarter of this year. The much larger Texas facility is targeting first limited production sometime in late 2027.

"The Giga Texas Optimus Factory latest update … construction keeps moving fast! Steel assembly is now only about 5 column grids from the north perimeter beam. Concrete is going in on the three upper floors, rebar is still being laid for more pours, and footing / grade-beam work continues on the south end. The east side still looks more open w/ long roof trusses likely going to span ~3 grids. Poss"— X · @JoeTegtmeyer
