Cybercab display showed manual driving interface in unexpected encounter

A Cybercab user discovered an unexpected display configuration during a recent ride. According to a post on X, when they entered the vehicle, "the display was in a different configuration with a virtual joystick for manual driving." The user proceeded to attempt manual control of the vehicle.

The sighting raises questions about the Robotaxi's development state and hidden features. Tesla has not publicly disclosed manual override controls as part of the Cybercab's standard interface, though such capabilities would be logical for testing, maintenance, or emergency scenarios during the vehicle's rollout phase.

The discovery comes as Tesla continues testing Cybercabs ahead of broader deployment. Earlier reports indicated the vehicle can be controlled via voice through Grok AI, but a graphical joystick interface represents a different input method entirely. Whether this was an intentional feature or an internal debug mode remains unclear.
