Tesla's 2026 Model 3 has earned a 5-star overall rating from NHTSA, with perfect scores in each category, according to a post from the Tesla North America account shared by Elon Musk on X.

The new Model 3, which represents a significant redesign of Tesla's mass-market sedan, achieved the top safety rating across all evaluated areas. NHTSA's five-star system evaluates vehicles on crashworthiness and crash avoidance features, with ratings assigned by category and an overall score.

The result underscores Tesla's continued focus on vehicle safety as the company rolls out the updated Model 3 lineup.
